FAQ

How much will this cost me? Can I use insurance?

Individual Session - $125

Please contact me regarding insurance. At this time, I take United, Cigna, Anthem, Kaiser, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO only). I do require you to make an account with my billing company in order to use your insurance. We can chat more about this if you wish to use your insurance.

I also accept Mines and Associates EAP.

I take all major credit cards, including FSA/HSA cards, as forms of payment.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I believe everyone should have access to counseling regardless of their finances, therefore, I do take a select number of sliding scale clients for those going through a financial hardship. Contact me for details.

Do you do teletherapy or phone sessions?

I do offer video sessions to residents of Colorado, where I am licensed. All fees and policies are the same as in person sessions.

I will be glad to talk to you briefly on the phone but do not conduct therapy sessions over the phone unless there is an extenuating circumstance, and in these cases, normal session rates will be applied. If a phone call exceeds 15 minutes, there may be additional fees charged.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, the Colorado Crisis Services line operates 24/7 at 1.844.493.8255. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest ER.

Do you offer supervision for those pursuing LPC or LAC licensure?

I do! I offer either or both. Since I carry both licenses, I can offer supervision if you are pursing both licenses or if you are pursuing just one (as well as lower level certification like CAT/CAS). Shoot me an email for more info!

Will I be in therapy forever? And how long is a session?

While this widely depends on your reasons for entering therapy, many people find that consistent therapy for 3-6 months is helpful. Some people may be in therapy for a year or more--it depends.

All of my therapy sessions last one therapeutic hour which is 50 minutes.

I'm new to therapy, what do I need to know?

You have taken a huge, brave step in your own healing process--give yourself a pat on the back for reaching out! In my counseling room, you will find a space to be completely open and honest with what's going on in your life, a space just for you to heal and process, a space that is judgement free and sometimes filled with some laughter.

Do you prescribe meds?

I am not a doctor, therefore I do not describe meds. I am happy to consult with a medical provider (PCP or psychiatrist) if you are on medications for mental health reasons or would like to be. I am also happy to give referrals to psychiatrists in the area that can help you learn more about if medications are a good fit for you.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
