FAQ
How much will this cost me? Can I use insurance?
Individual Session - $125
Please contact me regarding insurance. At this time, I take United, Cigna, Anthem, Aetna, Kaiser, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO only). I do require you to make an account with my billing company in order to use your insurance. We can chat more about this if you wish to use your insurance.
I also accept several EAPs -- please contact me to inquire further.
I take all major credit cards, including FSA/HSA cards, as forms of payment.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I believe everyone should have access to counseling regardless of their finances, therefore, I do take a select number of sliding scale clients for those going through a financial hardship. Contact me for details.
Do you offer same day appointments?
I am unable to guarantee same day appointments on the days I see clients and outside of my normal business hours. I do not offer crisis services.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, the Colorado Crisis Services line operates 24/7 at 1.844.493.8255. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest ER.
Do you offer supervision for those pursuing LPC or LAC licensure?
I do! I offer either or both. Since I carry both licenses, I can offer supervision if you are pursing both licenses or if you are pursuing just one (as well as lower level certification like CAT/CAS). Shoot me an email for more info!
Will I be in therapy forever? And how long is a session?
While this widely depends on your reasons for entering therapy, many people find that consistent therapy for 3-6 months is helpful. Some people may be in therapy for a year or more--it depends.
All of my therapy sessions last one therapeutic hour which is 45-55 minutes.
I'm new to therapy, what do I need to know?
You have taken a huge, brave step in your own healing process--give yourself a pat on the back for reaching out! In my counseling room, you will find a space to be completely open and honest with what's going on in your life, a space just for you to heal and process, a space that is judgement free and sometimes filled with some laughter.
Do you prescribe meds?
I am not a doctor, therefore I do not describe meds. I am happy to consult with a medical provider (PCP or psychiatrist) if you are on medications for mental health reasons or would like to be. I am also happy to give referrals to psychiatrists in the area that can help you learn more about if medications are a good fit for you.
Are babies or kids allowed in session? I don't have childcare.
Babies are definitely allowed in session if needed! You can nurse, pump or hold a sleeping baby if you need during your session. Your therapy hour is for you, so please try to limit distractions so that you can find the most benefit. I understand that resources and time are limited, so as long as you are able to focus, I don't mind if you have to tend to a toddler or baby at times.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
